About the Teacher

Bio

My name is Anna Fortenberry, and 2022 begins my sixth year teaching - all have been here at CHES! My husband, Cory, and I live in Southaven with our daughter, Ava Joyce, and two furbabies. My stepson, Hayes, is in the sixth grade at Lafayette Elementary in Oxford MS.

I can't wait to make music with your students, and have a "super" great year! I will be out on maternity leave until mid-September 2022, but can still be reached via email.

Education

• University of Mississippi, 2017: Bachelors of Music Education, vocal emphasis, with a minor in English.
  • While at Ole Miss, I sang in the Women's Glee Choir, Concert Singers Chamber Choir, and the Ole Miss Opera Theater. I was also a member of the Sally McDonnell Barksdale Honors College. 
• Auburn University, 2020: Masters of Education, emphasis in vocal music.
