Education

I graduated from the University of Mississippi with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education. I am certified by the state of Mississippi to teach grades K-6, Pre-K, as well as Special Education.

Experience

This will be my 12th year of teaching. I was a stay at home mom for 10 years before pursuing my lifelong dream of becoming a teacher of young children. I completed a full year of student teaching in a Kindergarten classroom at Center Hill Elementary before accepting the position as the Special Education Preschool Teacher. I love working at Center Hill and I have a passion for working with Special Needs students. My classroom is structured, educational, and most of all...FUN! I enjoy the energy and enthusiasm of preschoolers and I try to use lots of creativity and variety in finding ways to reach these little ones.

Morning Class (8:00-11:00 am)

8:00-9:00 Workboxes/Centers

9:00 – 9:30 Circle Time

9:30-10:00 Recess

10:00-10:15 Snack

10:15-10:30 Storytime

10:30-10:45 Art/Fine Motor

10:45-11:00 Clean up/Review/Treasure Box

11:00-11:55 Teacher and Assistant's lunch/planning time

Afternoon class (12:00-3:00 pm)

12:00-1:00 Workboxes/Centers

1:00 – 1:30 Circle Time

1:30-2:00 Recess

2:00-2:15 Snack

2:15-2:30 Storytime

2:30-2:45 Art/Fine Motor

2:45-3:00 Clean up/Review/Treasure Box

Center Hill Elementary - Preschool Supply List

Plastic folder – any color (with pockets and brads)

Backpack (large enough to hold the folder, change of clothes, and a snack)

Change of clothes (pants, underwear, shirt, and socks)

1 package baby wipes and/or flushable wipes

2 canisters of Lysol/Clorox wipes

1 can Lysol

1 bottle antibacterial hand soap

1 package of Pull-ups with Velcro sides (only if your child requires them)

1 box of Kleenex

2 boxes Large Crayola Crayons (8 count)

1 plastic shoebox

Snack: We eat snack each day at the end of our class time. We ask that you send a snack and drink each day.
