CHES Teacher and Teacher Assistant of the Year
Our CHES Teacher of the Year is Mrs. Valerie Oxner. Mrs. Oxner has taught school for 17.5 years. In Mrs. Oxner’s 5th grade math class, it is easy to witness standards
being taught, respect being reciprocated, rules being followed, and love being shared. Her approach to classroom management and her
positive relationships she fosters with students create an atmosphere
that radiates learning. Her students describe her as humorous, positive, patient, caring, kind, and most importantly, persistent.
Her persistent attitude makes a difference in the academic and emotional acuity of her students on a daily basis. She not only fosters a love for her students, but she also
garnishes a relationship with other students at the school. She truly
cares about the well-being of people and wants others to prosper. The relationships she builds with students exist beyond the walls of E105, and they can be found in all corners of CHES.
Our CHES Teacher Assistant of the Year is Mrs. Rice' Swede. Mrs. Swede is in her 9th year at CHES as the Computer Lab Teacher. She teaches computer class and is our go to person for technology needs. She also helps our school testing coordinator prepare and plan for our state testing. Her valuable knowledge and organization is such a great asset to our school. We all appreciate her willingness to step up and lend a helping hand to improve student growth. Thank you, Mrs. Swede, for your unwavering love and assistance that you give our Mustang Family.
