Welcome to Our Class!

Welcome to Fifth grade ELA and Social Studies!! I am so excited to be your teacher this year! ELA and Social Studies are two of my favorite subjects.and I am looking forward to an amazing year. 

A few notes about the upcoming year:

-In ELA we will alternate testing on Thursdays between taking cold reads and root word test. 

- Social Studies- we will use a curriculum called studies weekly using newspaper articles to learn about various topics.

-Graded papers will go home every Tuesday and will need to be signed by parent or guardian and returned the following day.

 

 

 

 

 

About the Teacher

Education and Experience:  I completed my Bachelors in Elementary Education from Western Governors University.  I taught preschool  for seven years before moving to Mississippi in 2020.  I started at Center Hill Elementary as a first grade teacher assistant and this will be my first year teaching 5th grade.

Personal Information:  I am originally from Virginia and moved to Mississippi in 2020 from San Diego California. I am married to my wonderful husband Chris and we have three daughters Olivia (17) Isabel (14) and Abigail (12) who all attend DeSoto county schools. I also have two dogs who are Huskies that love to sing. Some of my hobbies are reading, cooking, going to the gym and hiking. I also really enjoy being outdoors either walking my dogs, activities with my kids or just relaxing with a good book.
