Subjects Taught

I'm Barbara Rogers Buchanan.  Some of you know me as Mrs. Rogers, but that changed several years ago.  I am now Ms. Buchanan, and I am excited to share my world with you!

We moved from the little state of Delaware ( where I taught 5th and 6th grade for eight years and 1st grade for one year) to Olive Branch in 2003.  I  taught 4th grade for seven years after I got to Center Hill Elementary, and in 2012 I became a kindergarten teacher.  I loved fourth grade and will never forget the young men and women who became part of my family.  I have to tell you, though, that teaching kindergarten is an amazing privilege!  Everything is such a wonder to the little ones who are just beginning their learning process.  Every day is so exciting!

I have a large family.  I actually have six (yes, 6!) children of my own.  The youngest is taking classes at Northwest.  I now have 6 grandchildren:  The oldest is 12 and the youngest has just learned to walk!

I live in a log house just a couple of miles from the school.  It's back in the woods and I get to see and feed a lot of squirrels, birds, and other animals like raccoons and deer!
